The tourist offer of the city is enriched by turning the Salt Square into a museum and a tourist site displaying exploitation of salt during the Ottoman Empire. The central point of the Salt Sqare is a fountain, a gift of the City of Ravenna, made in a shape of a stylised Neolithic dish for salt boiling covered by a mosaique produced by Instituto d’arte Severini. A museum collection of items from the Neolithic and the Ottoman Empire found on various locations in and around Tuzla and a true replica displaying the way of salt boiling during those periods may also be seen on the Salt Square.
